About
Based in the Kent countryside, Evangeline Thyme is a contemporary British painter gifted with observing and capturing the minute movements of the face and eyes and then giving them form through paint. By bringing these fleeting psychological states to the surface, she weaves complex visual stories about human relationship, costume and identity. Evangeline is currently a featured artist with Jack’s Gallery in Henley-on-Thames.

Operating as a low yield studio Evangeline intentionally limits production to just five significant large-scale narrative canvases each year. This deliberate pace ensures that every painting receives meticulous compositional development, deep psychological layering and an uncompromising standard of execution.

Artist Statement

The female figure is my language, it’s a tool for expressing deeper discussions, the doorway, the beginning of the conversation, not the end of it.

My paintings are identity pieces, conversation pieces, emotionally reflective pieces. This sits well for narratively minded people, quiet collectors, interior buyers, culturally engaged people and those with a love of interior design.

My buyers find the paintings reflect something in themselves, create atmosphere and emotional tone in a room, and gives their home identity. My paintings are for larger statement wall positioning.
